Make Your Own Sea Glass Jewellery at Our Workshops with Kelly Twigg
There’s something magical about sea glass, isn’t there? Those smooth, frosted pieces of glass, shaped by the sea, tumbled by the waves, and washed up on the shore like tiny treasures waiting to be found. If you’ve ever pocketed a piece of sea glass on a beach walk, knowing it was too beautiful to leave behind but not quite sure what to do with it—this is your chance to turn it into something truly special.
Our Sea Glass Jewellery Workshop is the perfect way to transform those little coastal finds into stunning, wearable pieces. And the best part? It’s led by the incredible Kelly Twigg—a jeweller I absolutely love, and once you see her work, you’ll understand why.
Meet Your Teacher: Kelly Twigg
Kelly isn’t just an expert jeweller; she’s an artist who specialises in creating pieces inspired by nature. She runs Willow & Twigg, where she makes delicate, organic jewellery that captures the beauty of the world around us. If you’re one of her 14k+ followers on Instagram (@willowandtwigg), you’ve probably already fallen in love with her aesthetic—thoughtful, timeless, and full of natural inspiration.
Beyond her stunning work, Kelly is an incredible teacher. She has a gift for guiding people through the jewellery-making process, making it feel both exciting and achievable. Whether you’re completely new to silversmithing or already have some experience, you’ll be in safe hands as she teaches you how to bezel-set a piece of sea glass into a beautiful ring or pendant.
What You’ll Learn
This is a full-day sea glass jewellery workshop (10am–5pm), so you’ll have plenty of time to really immerse yourself in the making process. You’ll start by choosing a piece of sea glass (either something you’ve brought along or from the selection provided in class), then learn how to:
-
Shape and prepare your sea glass for setting
-
Craft a silver bezel setting to hold your sea glass securely
-
Solder, polish, and finish your piece to a professional standard
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a completely unique ring or pendant—something you’ve made by hand, with a little help from the sea!
Why Sea Glass?
There’s something so special about working with sea glass. Every piece is unique, shaped by nature and time. Unlike gemstones, which are carefully cut and polished, sea glass is all about embracing imperfections—the soft edges, the variations in colour, the tiny marks of its history. It’s a reminder of the beauty in things that are naturally formed, and it makes for jewellery that carries a story.
Maybe you’ll bring along a piece you found on a memorable beach walk, or maybe you’ll pick one that catches your eye in class—either way, you’ll be creating something that feels deeply personal and meaningful.
