If you are starting or running a jewellery business getting great photos of your jewellery can be challenging but is really essential, especially when selling or promoting yourself online. A professional photographer can be an expensive option so learning to take your own photos is a must.
Throughout the day your tutor will guide you on all the basics of using your camera to get the best possible pictures of your jewellery.
Some of the areas covered in this class include:
- Using and looking after your camera
- Lighting
- Background, staging and setting up your photo
- Setting up a mini photography studio at home
- White balance, getting your pictures in focus and much more...
This is a great value, intensive class where you will learn to take lovely photos of your jewellery which is an invaluable skill that will be used time and time again.
Requirements for this DSLR class include:
All students must bring their own SLR digital camera (also the manual and charger). If you do not own an SLR, consider borrowing or hiring one because it is harder to achieve results with compact digital cameras. Whatever you decide, remember your camera on the day because LJS does not provide school cameras. Camera phones (iPhones) are not suitable for this class.
Also, don't forget to bring some jewellery along too - if not we have plenty for you to photograph!
General Info:
As with all of our classes, there will be plenty of tea, coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 6.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
